Application Process
Follow these simple steps to get started with your Edly loan application.
Start Your Application
Create Your Edly Account
Create an account to access your application anytime.
Log back in here at any time: edly.com/login
⚠️ Already have an account? Use your existing email — do not create a new one.
Your SSN can only be linked to one email address, and a second account will prevent you from applying.
Prequalification (Soft Credit Check)
- Edly runs a soft credit check — this has no impact on your credit score
- Based on the information provided, you'll see your available loan options
Without a Cosigner
- Select your school, major, and graduation date
- Enter the loan amount you need
- Complete the soft credit check and review your loan options
- Complete the hard credit check and sign your approval disclosure
Don't see your school? Edly has not partnered with every institution yet. If your school isn't listed yet, you won't be able to apply.
With a Cosigner
You currently qualify for a cosigned option
- Enter your cosigner's information — they'll receive a link to complete their portion
- Edly runs a soft credit check on the cosigner to confirm eligibility
- Is the cosigner you tried not eligible? No problem — you can try as many cosigners as you'd like
- Once approved, the cosigner completes their steps including income verification
- The application then returns to you to be finished through certification
⚠️ Credit check order:
The cosigner's hard credit check happens first. Your credit check won't occur until they complete their portion. You also won't see a final loan disclosure until then.
Bank Link & Income Verification
Linking Your Bank Account
- Edly uses Plaid to verify your bank account information. This will take just a few minutes and will open in a separate pop-up window
- If you prefer manual verification, Edly can send a $0.01 test deposit to your account
- Allow 1–2 business days for it to arrive
- Use the last 4 digits of the reference number to confirm your account
Verifying Your Income
- Edly uses MeasureOne to verify your income
- Upload your W-2 or 1099 forms when requested in order to verify your income
- Have a different income source (Social Security, VA support, etc.)? Attach those under any document option and select “submit anyway” — Edly will review your submission
Set up your AES account
This is also a great time to set up your loan servicing account with AES: access.aessuccess.org/sign-in
This is how you create your AES account:
You will need:
- SSN
- First name and last name
- Date of birth (format: DD/MM/YYYY)
Steps to create your account:
- Create a username (typically your email address before the "@")
- Create and confirm your password
- Choose an authentication method — text message (recommended) or Okta
- Enter the verification code sent to your email
⚠️ Your Edly application is not complete and loan funds cannot be disbursed to your school until you set up your AES account
Certification (School Verification)
- Once bank, income verification, and servicer setup are complete, your application is sent to your school
- Your school will verify your enrollment details before the loan is finalized
- Contact your school as soon as possible to notify them that your loan certification is pending — requirements and timelines vary by school
